Games of the week -
Heres the Teams with a Shot @ the BCS NC Game
21Wisconsi @ 1 OSU 12:00 Big Ten Network?
OSU continues its boring march to the Championship with only 3 games left - Haven't I seen this before? How did it turn out last time?
FSU @ 2BC 8:00 ABC
With 5 games lefts, I still think there's two losses in this BC team. I just hope its not this one
3LSU @ Bama 5:00 CBS
The Hate bowl - LSU hates Saban, I hate him, You hate him, the Dolphins hate him, His players hate him, His mom hates him.. The only way LSU could hate him more is if he wins on Saturday, Not Likely- his team did lose to FSU, and their only quality win was over the schizophrenic Tennessee team -
4ASU @ 5Oregon 6:40 ESPN
Game of the Week
- Why does Oregon play all their tough games at home? I hope the ASU joy ride ends in Eugene
TA&M @ 6Oklahoma 8:00
Oklahoma still has the easiest path to 12-1, besides OSU - who will end up 12-1
Nebraska @ 8Kansas 12:30
While we all complain about OSU's weak schedule, at least the pollsters got Kansas right, 8-0 and still #8 in all the polls. Itll be 9-0 with no improvement to strength of schedule.
9Missouri @ Colorado 6:30
Missouri is the forgotten team of the bunch, so you can forget about this game
Update on the Two Loss Theory
One Eliminator game and 6 potential upsets this week. Were still on track and only 7 upsets away. Here what we need: OSU has just 3 left- not likely 2 L's - so pencil em in, BC has 2 L's in em with 5 remaining, LSU has the SECCG, OU/Kan/Missou - just need one upset by the B-12 conference champ, W. Virginia's got 3 conference toss-ups, and the Oregon/ASU winner need to drop one to a UCLA-ish team. Tough but believeable.
-First 2-banger in Line: Georgia... wtf, how did they get to #10? Did everyone forget they crapped the bed @ Tennessee? and squeaked out the Vandy win? Who's next in line? ... Michigan. ah crap, forget it, no two loss team deserves it. (actually, if say LSU lost this week to Bama, and still won the SEC or OU did likewise, they'd be ahead of these other clowns. also, a USC team that wins out would be ahead too)
And then Our Game:
Vandy @ UF 12:30 LF
Oh the lack of importance. Someone tell me how close we still are to something of meaning. Whats that? Championship game? We could still go?
Its really not that far fetched. We need Tennessee to drop a game, which will most likely happen (they are schizophrenic), to Arkansas or Vandy or@Kentucky. And Georgia to drop one too, with Kentucky and Auburn left, thats not asking a lot.
-But here's how it goes down, go ahead mark my words,
Tennessee loses to Arkansas in two weeks (Yah! one down) Then we spend the next three hours(these games are back to back on Nov. 8, right before doomsday in Columbia) rooting for Auburn to Beat Georgia. Auburn, historically a goat when we need them to beat somebody, miraculously pulls out a win on their final drive with a 54 yard field goal in pounding rain (the first water Georgia has seen in 7 months). These results give the Gators a second chance at a title shot, reminiscent of the SEC CG last year, the news flys around the locker room just minutes before kickoff. An overzealous Gator team then proceeds to give up a 28-10 halftime lead. UF fans, with their hopes dashed at the hand of the Ole Ball Coach tear their clothes and mourn in the streets, meanwhile back in the gator locker room, the coaching staff suddenly figures out a way to stop the Cocks - Bench Kyle Jackson and Tony Joiner for Major Wright and Tim Tebow.... Just kidding - But in the second half the Gators play inspired football and win 31-28. Gator fans celebrate while planning trips to Atlanta. The three way tie for first put the Gators in the Championship game for a rematch with LSU.
Just one problem
On November 24, just seven days before the Championship game, Gator nation hunkers down in front of the television to do the unthinkable - Root for the Tennessee Volunteers. Yes the Vols must win their final game against Kentucky. The see-saw battle keeps the audience on the edge of their seat. With just 7 seconds left, Down 30-31, Tennessee is at the Kentucky18 yard line. they send out the kicking unit. As the ball is snapped the holder gets up and catches the snap, only to take a knee - running out the clock, losing the game. As an F.U. to the Gators the Vols have lost on purpose -- no not really, but they do miss the field goal and lose. thereby making it a two way tie between Florida and Georgia. UGA having the tie-breaker, goes to Atlanta and loses by 40 to LSU. The End
So go ahead Vandy - put me out of my misery (by misery, i mean the great joy i get from making up ridiculous scenarios which keep me up at night and buoy my hope for championship glory)
